I am a rising senior at Northwestern University’s Medill School of Journalism, pursuing a major in journalism and minor in Spanish. I am interested in writing about culture, criminal justice, women’s issues, politics and more. I am especially interested in feature writing for both digital and print platforms. Every time I read stories such as this profile of Lorde, I get the chills. I am currently working as an editorial assistant at New York magazine’s The Cut. This past summer, I traversed Chicago as a metro reporting intern for the Chicago Sun-Times. On the side, I copy-edited technological help articles and developed a social media plan for Northwestern’s Kellogg School of Management’s technology department. This past year, I investigated a 1975 murder case as part of an investigative class supported by the Medill Justice Project, an award-winning national investigative journalism center. I spent the first half of the year studying Spanish at the Consortium for Advanced Studies Abroad in Barcelona. You can also find my work in The Daily Northwestern, Michigan Avenue and the Daily Herald. During my sophomore year, I managed The Daily’s Arts and Entertainment section for five months, covering everything from New York Fashion Week to “Fiddler on the Roof.” I am a proud Chicago-native. When I’m not writing, you can find me training for a half marathon or seeking out guacamole.
