Our purpose is to bring together various organisations and groups involved in adult learning in the city and county through the Cork Adult Education and Training Exhibition, held every September in the City Hall. Statutory bodies such as University College Cork, Cork Institute of Technology, Cork ETB, Community Schools, and City Libraries are represented, as well as adult learning organisations from the private sector, and a large number of voluntary groups. We also organise annual lunch-time lectures every spring on topics of historical and cultural interest to Cork, while the Retired People's Network, formed by the Cork Adult Education Council in 1988, arranges classes and activities for older people throughout the year.
