May Bernardi graduated with from the „Institut Français de la Mode“ in Paris in 2014. Before setting up her eponymous label she gained experience with Hussein Chalayan in London and Bruno Pieters in Antwerp. Within her collections May Bernardi combines experimental design with poetic stories. Drawing inspiration from nature and myths she reinterprets artisanal techniques of fabric manipulation to create new textures and hand-crafted textiles. Her aesthetic is elegant and sophisticated but raw at the same time and represents a diverse image of women: strong and independent and never anxious to please, yet soft and sensuous.
