Situated on the edge of the Brecon Beacons National Park, our orchard campsite provides a friendly relaxed atmosphere and an authentic camping experience.   We are here to make your camping holiday as enjoyable as possible. The orchard has fire pits for our campers to use. We sell seasoned firewood at £5 per bag, kindling can be gathered from the woodland. Our new outdoor kitchen makes cooking outdoors a real pleasure and is a small sociable hub for our visitors to meet.  If the weather is not great, we also have a rainy day recreation room, a place for the whole family to hang out, play ping pong or play a board game with a book of ideas and materials for adventure and creative play.    Lower Porthamel has the fishing rights on the Llynfi. Fly fishing and course fishing day passes are available at the farmhouse.   The showers are always hot and the wash area is a short distance from the camping orchard.  For groups or small parties we now have our new Stable house camping room making camping all the more simple and lightweight as we provide the beds and small kitchen area above the stable block. Perfect for groups – just bring your own sleeping bag and pillow case!   Our nature trail is a beautiful round 2.5km walk from the campsite through the farm fields and along the old Mid Wales Railway line. The track runs largely through woodland and along the River Llynfi which is an area of special scientific interest.  The valley is rich in fauna and wildlife, otters, Kingfishers and Badgers can all be seen and there are plenty of picnic spots along the way.   The Brecon Beacons National Park offers breathtaking views and great walking country.  Canoeing, Kayaking, Pony trekking, mountain bike riding and gliding can all be enjoyed nearby.  Or if you are wanting a more gentle activity, spend the day in Hay on Wye with it’s famous bookshops, antique shops, galleries pubs and restaurants.   Summer campers can enjoy fresh produce from the farm and organic meat BBQ packs from our Small Farms Butcher shop can be purchased at the farm.   We invite you to come and enjoy yourselves at Lower Porthamel Farm Camping and have a no car policy on the camping fields and orchard.  Wheelbarrows are available for you to bring your gear to the sites.

I love to read books and learn new techniques and skills along with more about myself. It's a way for us to grow not only as individuals but as business owners and entrepreneurs. There a ton of "self-help" books out there. Rarely, do they ever make sense nor are what they teach very realistic or practical to use. Recently I read a book that was a suggestion from an email newsletter I subscribe to from Pat Flynn. I have found Pat Flynn, who recommended this book, to be authentic, real and trustworthy. I decided to take a look at it and read it from start to finish within a week. The book is insightful, practical, and was an eye opener for me personally and professionally. The author is Gary Keller with Jay Papasan both who are popular online business people, I am guessing. The book takes you through the myths of multitasking and provides a great method for finding your ultimate purpose. It made me really reflect on what my ultimate purpose is in this life. Then it helps you narrow down, and narrow down, and narrow down to help you get to the actual task or activity that can help you towards your bigger purpose. The information applies to all facets of your life whether it is health, business, spiritual, personal or anything else. The main question asked throughout the book was, "What is the ONE Thing I can do today that by doing it everything else will be easier or unnecessary?" The word phrase that really stuck out to me was "I CAN DO". Not what should I do, not what could I do. I find myself asking the question everyday but not before I defined my ultimate purpose. Want to know what I came up with? My Lifelong Purpose Statement "My purpose in the next five years is to be free of financial burdens that limit my ability to help myself, my family, other people, and my community. When I am free of those financial burdens, my purpose is to become wealthy enough to achieve my personal goals for my family, other people, and my community for the rest of my life and beyond. Leave a legacy for my family, other people, and my community." I know that is really broad and sort of vague but when I went through the process outlined in the book I could really narrow it down to the one task I can do at this moment that will move me toward that goal. Pretty cool, I think. The book is affordable, not costing more than any other book you would normally buy and you can purchase other companion pieces to go with it. I just enjoyed the book and got a lot out it, so I didn't find it necessary to purchase the other pieces. But you might decide you need more and that's okay. You offer a great product or service at a good price yet you don't have all the clients you need. It's a buyers world out there you aren't competing with just your local competitor anymore. You are dealing with global competition and even worse you're dealing with the buyers budget. Cafe culture is strong in Taiwan. Especially in Taipei, where there's a university around every corner, instagrammable cafes nestle everywhere. Everywhere you go, cafe culture is a little bit different. This fascinates me, since I spend a lot of time in cafes working, reading, and studying. Here are some quick observations about how Taipei's cafe culture is different from the US's. Roboppy's relatable "should I go to a cafe?" flowchart. Click through to read about her favorite cafes in Taipei! 1. Prime cafe hours are after lunch My senior year of college I'd head to a cafe directly after I'd showered, arriving around 7am. I'm used to coffee places opening at five or six in the morning to accommodate commuters who need their caffeine, but things are different in Taiwan. While lots of cafes in the US open early and close in the afternoon, cafe time in Taiwan starts around 10am and often stretches into the night. 2. The wifi password is probably their phone number. It's also usually posted somewhere, and if it's not, well, "wifi" needs no translation. Easy peasy. If you go to Starbucks, though, it's another matter. To access Starbucks' wifi, you'll need a phone number where you can get SMS messages. 3. You probably pay when you leave, not when you order. At chains like Starbucks, Dante, and Barista, paying when you order is standard. Not so at smaller cafes, where you frequently pay right before you leave. Even if you're leaving six hours after you first got there. Yes, I've walked out without paying and then the barista had to run after me and I had to walk myself back inside and apologize profusely, why do you ask? Cat's Got Nothing To Do Cafe, with a great view of Taipei. 4. There's probably a resident animal. In the US, laws prevent having animals in restaurants. In Taiwan, it's practically a national tradition. They did invent the cat cafe, after all! It's pretty common to have a cat live in a cafe or for the owners to bring their pup to work. My favorite cafe is home to a long-haired corgi! As long as you don't have a serious dander allergy, embrace the fluff. There's nothing like drinking tea while watching cats. 5. Cafes are big on dessert. Cafes in Taiwan serve dainty sponge cakes and waffles, and it's standard to get a drink and dessert if you're not buying a meal. (It's not impolite to skip the dessert or anything, it's just part of the Taiwanese cafe culture.) 6. Outside seating is frequently buggy and smokey. Just a heads up. 7. It ain't cheap. Lattes will cost you more than dinner here -- they run about 150NTD, whereas your average meal is around 100. Tea isn't cheaper, which is maddening to me. (The Louisa Coffee near the Da'An Library is a great spot if you want some cafe time but are working on a tight budget. Their teas are 30-50NTD! (I don't usually bring my camera to cafes, which means I don't have lots of cute cafe pictures. I promise the cafes are cute, though! I'll update when I get more pictures.)

TSI started out as a dream. A dream many of you seem to share. It’s the return of a company you could depend upon to consistently deliver a meaningful RPG experience. While there are many classic RPG franchises and several talented studios, SSI and the Gold Box games delivered, time and again, a new adventure using the same type of compelling, tactical experience. You knew exactly what you were getting: proven technology, a great system/setting, and strategic, party-based combat. Our company, TSI, was formed in that same spirit.

This is a story... Well, more of an interview and insight to an artist.  One who has a story covering more miles than your average musician but one who's journey started as all of ours do. By finding that almost sacred and symbiotic relationship with our instruments.    From one of his earliest memories James Kirby remembers strumming his guitar as his father played away at the keys of a piano and his brother held the rhythm on the drums. But the six string that he now comes to play so magnificently was not his first instrument. From the age of four, James was encouraged to play more classical themed instrumentation such as the Piano, Cello and Viola. Though in hindsight he expresses a thought of not being "as good" at these in comparison to the drums and (of course) the guitar, which were both introduced to him at the age of eight.   The man is a multi-instrumentalist and the refined method in which he now plays (knowingly or not) salutes his introduction to his earlier and more formal instrumentation.   And music, seemingly for him, was not just a stay at home pass time.  Even in earlier days James has been a part of choirs, orchestras and Jazz/Rock and Indie bands. All these styles, settings and genres aided his understanding and development in music... But they were aided too by his natural, almost perfect pitch ear for music and dynamics.    As life went on James came in to the world we all know. One of four letters that binds our lives to paper and restricts our dreams... Work. His music continued as an overlay to the 9-5 lifestyle with regular gigs 5 times a week between Kent and London. Exhausted and shattered from the fine lines between what he did (work) and what he was (a musician) the then suppressed flame of his passion burst beyond its confinement. It was time for for a change and a time to be all that he was. He pushed his music, utilising the 9-5 to get him where he needed.  His efforts were rewarded with a contract to play full time for 18 months in bars, clubs and restaurants in Spain and the middle east. With every note played it seemed he took another step forward and with his new found knowledge and experience a life on the road became a reality rather than a dream. The doors to the UK/Europe tour were opening.    Though playing for a living is James' dream he is a modest and realistic character. He of all people will express that it's not all bright lights and 5 stars... And most of all, it isn't easy.    "It's been an incredible experience! but to say I'm 'Living the dream' is a stretch from the imagination!   The only reason I managed to line up a UK tour off my own back was because I met such amazing people during my time away."    James has no management, no tour group, no investors and no label. He is a man with determination and talent and more so he is one who gives thanks to those who got him where he is  .   So I asked him how he sees today in contrast to how he was when he started out  "I never thought I would ever be doing my music full time, even looking back 2 years ago when I was sat working in an office."  And though there is a surprised and positive shock in the distance travelled to achieve his goals James then brought forward a side so many dismiss from the world of music. At what cost do achieving our dreams come at?  "I gave up everything, a secure job, a nice apartment, relationship and time with family, friends to follow a dream (excuse the cliche) I've had since as long as I can remember."    ladies and gentlemen,  James Kirkby holds a story so many don't see.  Here we have a man who I actually refuse to call a "Guitarist" even with all this hard work in practice and talent... James Kirby IS a Musician! He is a Composer and an Artist!  And he is his own. He has made what once may have seemed impossible an actual life.  Hard work, determination and as you have read, sacrifice.  Admittedly it is not a life of glamour, more so one of a diary, equipment and petrol receipts.   It is a world James himself built and though he gives great thanks and appreciation to those along the way, if you look deep into the core of what he has done, he has done it alone.    This man alone (to me) separates those who want to be musicians from those who actually are! And he is a beacon to those who hold the passion of music as close as each and every drawing breath, that there is a life that can be achieved. And you don't need to bombard labels to do it nor sell your soul. So drop the glam, roll up your sleeves,  definitely drop the ego and get some good old hard graft in.  Throughout history the artists (within and outside the world of music) worth remembering are those who ignored the quick fixes... And James Kirby dare I say... Has right to stand amongst them. If not only for his talent but how he has brought his talent to others.   Again on a personal note his talent and journey always give me pride simply through the fact we share our names.    And there is more to come from James in the near future, from collaborations with other artists to his  own EP and album... And not forgetting another self made European Tour.  So I implore you to look him up, to listen and see him do what he does.  Because by the time he's restrung his guitars, loaded up his equipment he'll be off again effortlessly entertaining the world he's made himself.

NFL Draft 2018 Scouting Reports: Wyoming QB Josh Allen What I like Allen has one of the strongest arms most scouts have ever seen. He put it on display at the combine with a 70-yard bomb. He's athletic and while I don't believe his athleticism is comparable to Cam Newton's(sorry Daniel Jeremiah) Wyoming did use him in a similar way and he produced results. Allen comes from the same offense as Carson Wentz. No gimmicky spread here he's made all the throws and taken snaps under center. At 6'5 233 pounds he has prototypical NFL quarterback size. He's at his best when he's outside the pocket. It's out there that his athleticism and arm strength are on full display. What I don't My biggest gripe is Allen is that he's shown very little ability to win from the pocket. He seems to prefer playing outside of it. He will usually bail at the first sign of pressure and subtle moves within the pocket don't seem to be in his repertoire. His decision making is questionable at best. Pro football focus ranked him 28th in the nation at avoiding turnover worthy plays Even his most ardent supporters admit Allen is not accurate. A lot of this comes from his mechanics. Oftentimes his upper and lower body are out of synch when he throws. He also tends to not reset his feet when he moves in the pocket. Comparison: Flacco with wheels. He's got the same level arm or stronger and he can throw much better on the move. They are also similar in size. Overall: He's the most polarizing quarterback prospect in years. No matter how you feel about Allen, he has the pieces to become a great signal caller(physically at least). His success will largely be based on the environment and system he's placed in. I personally think he has bust written all over him.

We chose Blessed Sacrament Catholic School because it has a small community feel. It provides a strong Catholic foundation for the children. Thank you for visiting my website! My love for photography began as a child. I remember going to the National Museum of the Air Force when I was 9 or 10 years old. I spent every penny I had buying and shooting all the rolls of 110 film I could get my hands on. It took me weeks to save up enough to get them all developed (aahhh digital). I found the pictures again a few years ago. The pictures were nothing spectacular, but I'll never forget the rush I got taking them. Jump ahead to high school where I took my first photography class and learned about exposure, composure, and developing. After that I got away from serious photography until just a few years back. My father got a fancy new camera, a Nikon D90, and I had to have one too. I tried out a lot of lower grade equipment before learning the reasons why the pro grade stuff cost soooo much. There really is a huge difference in what you can do with it. But then I hit another wall. Even though my gear was good, I couldn't get all the shots I was trying for. My dad was having similar issues and we discovered a local photography school, Light Photographic Workshops. And the rest, as they say, is history. Not really, but I did learn how to fully use my camera and have continued to strive to be a better photographer ever since. I am fortunate to live in an area filled with great places to shoot, and to have friends and family that are so supportive of my work.

Hi Everyone. Barry here. Since the days of going on those long tours are coming to a close, I thought this might be a good time to remind you all about ManilowTV. I think many of you know that ever since I started performing I have hit the “record” button; be it audio or video. Recordings of every show I’ve ever done are in a big vault. (Right next to my baby shoes and the Copacabana jacket!). All of these recordings were meant only for reference and archival purposes. I would look at the shows each night after a concert, make notes, and give them to the staff so that we could tighten the show or change things. But watching them brings back so many great memories! I know you will enjoy seeing them. That’s what ManilowTV is all about. Each month for the past seven years, Marc and I have looked through hundreds of video tapes and DVD’s and picked a performance that we think you would enjoy and have shown it on ManilowTV. So far, there are 90 different shows. Even though the shows were recorded on one camera and the video and audio is not professional network quality, I think they are very exciting.
