Anne is a Professor of Landscape Architecture and Planning at MIT, where she teaches courses on urban landscape design and planning, photography, and landscape history. Before MIT, she taught at Harvard and at the University of Pennsylvania. Her most recent book, Daring to Look: Dorothea Lange’s Photographs and Notes from the Field (University of Chicago Press, 2008) received the 2009 Great Place Book Award from the Environmental Design Research Association and the 2009 John Brinckerhoff Jackson Book Prize from the Foundation for Landscape Studies for a book that “breaks new ground.” It was a finalist for the Art Historian Association\'s 2009 Art Book Award and for the American Association of Publishers\' 2008 PROSE Awards in Art and Art History. Her first book, The Granite Garden: Urban Nature and Human Design (Basic Books, 1984), is still in print and has been published in Japanese and Portuguese. In 1984 it received the President\'s Award of Excellence from the American Society of Landscape Architects, and, in 2009, the American Planning Association named it one of the “essential books” of the past century. Her second book, The Language of Landscape (Yale, 1998) is a required text in landscape architecture and landscape studies.

This site includes a series of galleries featuring the photography of David Blumenkrantz. Galleries include his documentary work in Africa, Venezuela, urban scenes from Los Angeles, early work, and various other collections of images. Blumenkrantz is an Associate Professor in the Journalism Department at California State University, Northridge.

Welcome to Allen R. McConnell's home page. Allen has a Ph. D. in Psychology from Indiana University, with a major concentration in social psychology and a minor concentration in cognitive science. His research interests include self-concept representation and its implications, pet ownership, stereotyping, prejudice, attitudes, implicit attitudes, nonconscious processes, and judgment and decision making. He has been on the faculty of Penn State, Michigan State, the University of Chicago, and is currently the James and Beth Lewis Professor of Psychology at Miami University. He also does considerable consulting as a legal trial consultant and as a consumer behavior consultant. In his spare time, Allen enjoys travel, photography, hiking, maintaining the Fort Scott Camps website, watching college basketball, and riding rollercoasters.

Deborah Orloff is a photo-based artist and educator. Her work has been included in numerous exhibitions at national and international venues including the Whitney Museum of American Art. Orloff runs the Photography area in the Department of Art at the University of Toledo where she is a tenured Professor.

Pete Souza is a freelance photojournalist and an assistant professor of photojournalism at Ohio University. He has worked as Official White House Photographer for President Reagan; a freelancer for National Geographic and Life Magazine, and the National Photographer for the Chicago Tribune based in their Washington, D.C. office. Born in Detroit on June 11, 1934, Jerry Uelsmann received his B.F.A. degree at the Rochester Institute of Technology in 1957 and his M.S. and M.F.A. at Indiana University in 1960. He began teaching photography at the University of Florida in Gainesville in 1960 (“my first job offer”). He became a graduate research professor of art at the university in 1974, and is now retired from teaching. He lives in Gainesville, Florida.

April Hickox is a lens based artist, teacher and independent curator who lives on Toronto Islands. She has been producing for over 35 years, her work includes photography, film, video and installation works. April's work is based in narratives, the passage from one experience, to another in the life process encompassing history, memory, and site. She has been supported by all levels of funding throughout her career and has exhibited nationally and internationally. An active community leader, the founding director of Gallery 44 Center For Contemporary Photography, and a founding member of Tenth Muse Studio, and Artscape. April is currently associate professor of photography at the Ontario College of Art in Toronto. She is represented by Katzman Kamen Gallery in Toronto.
