The International Ocean Discovery Program U.S. Implementing Organization (IODP-USIO), operates the scientific riserless drilling vessel JOIDES Resolution. IODP is an international organization that conducts research into the evolution of Earth's surface, oceans, climate, and deep biosphere. IODP members include the USA, Japan, the European Consortium for Ocean Research Drilling (ECORD), People's Republic of China, Korea, the Australia/New Zealand Consortium (ANZIC), India, and Brazil. The program operated as the Integrated Ocean Drilling Program from October 2003 to September 2013.
