Centro Vela si trova sulla sponda Lombarda del Lago Maggiore, a Cerro di Laveno, una località molto suggestiva di fronte alle Isole Borromee, mediamente ventosa e facilmente raggiungibile. Nata nel 1997 come Scuola di Vela, è riconosciuta ufficialmente dalla Federazione Italiana Vela.

LinkEngineering is a collaboration between the National Academy of Engineering and five partner organizations: Achieve, Inc., American Society for Engineering Education , Council of State Science Supervisors, International Technology and Engineering Educators Association, The National Science Teachers Association. Funded by Chevron, the LinkEngineering website is designed to support teachers, teacher educators, and administrators at all levels of PreK-12 education to more effectively implement engineering in classroom and out-of-/after-school settings. LinkEngieneering is not principally a collection of stuff, rather it is a community of practitioners learning from one another. Its goal is to support educators through the challenging but rewarding process of providing students of all ages and abilities meaningful experiences in engineering. LinkEngineering was designed based on extensive audience research, including focus groups, workshops, and online surveys.
