Kappa Delta Rho was founded on May 17, 1905 at Middlebury College in Middlebury, VT. Since then we have grown to 25,000+ initiated members and have 35 active chapters across the country. Sail training charity introducing young people to the excitement & adventure of offshore sailing. Proud to be part of the worldwide Scout movement, an RYA training centre & ASTO (UK Sail Training) member. We operate from the UK east coast throughout the season, with longer trips across Europe including participation in the Tall Ships Race series. We cater for crews from a wide range of backgrounds, including those who have special educational and social needs. Offshore sailing creates opportunities for personal development in a physically challenging environment and to inculcate initiative and leadership skills and provides the basis for a communal experience on board ship in which teamwork and cooperation are at least as important as self reliance, toughness and individual fortitude. Through offshore sailing, we aim to encourage an awareness of the beauty of the natural world, particularly the sea in all its changing moods and man's place in that world.
