Only £30.00 per Person ​ We all hope we will never need First Aid Courses but simple skills and knowledge can make a huge difference in an emergency in getting your Dog to Vet Assistance. The event will be a chance to learn, relax and perhaps have some fun along the way! Presented by Darren, a qualified First Aid trainer, owner of PPP First Aid Community First Responder with the East of England Ambulance Service. Darren has undertaken to research Canine First Aid and its coloration to the 'Hooman version'. Darren has a passion for all kinds of First Aid Training being enjoyable! Tamsin-Jane will be part of the 'double act' adding her passion and knowledge within the canine area. The majority of the day will focus on our Doggie pals, however in addition the opportunity to learn some basic life support for humans will be part of the event. So not only will you have the chance to use our 'Doggie dummies' but Resus Annie too! Some of the Topics we will be covering: Basic health signs, wounds, burns, bleeding, shock, limb problems, skin conditions, choking, stomach conditions, epilepsy, eye injuries. First Aid situation such as Road Traffic Accident, Electrocution, Chemical Poisoning, Ingested Poisoning, Animal Fight, Animal Drowning, Heat Stroke, Gastric Torsion .... Not forgetting the 'Hoomans' CPR, Stroke, Wounds, Canine Bites........ Basic Life Support. The course will start at 14:30 prompt and will last approximately 3 and half hours. You will be given a certificate of completion once you have successfullly completed the course contents, and in addition a Basic Life Support a First Aid Certificate from PPP First Aid. Course manual written by Darren will also be issued for you to refresh your knowledge from time to time. If you wish to bring your dogs please let us know before the event. Obviously on dogs that are non aggressive and well behaved. Please note there will be a physical element to the training (human CPR) so comfortable clothing is the order of the day and perhaps a cushion for your kneeling comfort! Light refreshments will be available throughout the course. Please be aware that First Aid Merchandise will be on sale and can be taken when the course closes.

We all have had one at some point of time. A muscle spasm is a common occurrence, when you extend the body under conditions of dehydration and heat, beyond a stage. When undernourished and overworked, running low on energy and fluids, muscles get spasms (short painful contractions). Muscle Function Muscles, with their contractile behavior, are primarily accountable for body motions. Muscle Spasm Occasionally, people have an uneasy feeling of tightness in muscles of legs, neck, arms or their back. Sportspersons, athletes or the folks associated with strenuous tasks get cramps in their own muscles. Both these forms are referred to as muscle spasms. Normally it's characterized by an abrupt burst of unpleasant, painful sense. Every muscle in the body is susceptible to muscle spasm, although it's more common in calf muscles or muscles of the back or neck. Muscle will not loosen after sudden stiffening when the body witness's muscle spasm. When it occurs in legs, it's also known as 'Charley Horse'. Normally, these muscle cramps up the crop from the simple fatigue of muscles, after surprising heavy exercise when the muscle is just not habituated to weights that are additional. It can also occur during pregnancy. Yet, there are few instances when disorders or electrolyte imbalances in neuromuscular functions cause spasms. Also, it could be a complication of certain medicines. Spasms can be catalyzed by the sudden moves, especially a sudden, tweaking move. Occasionally, nerve damage can result in a long-term shortening of the muscle, into contracture.
