I started my professional photographic journey as a videographer at CNN and then at C-SPAN in the early days of the cable industry. At C-SPAN I was one of 7 employees, located in a small make shift studio located in a business building in Alexandria, VA just outside of the District of Columbia. It was at C-SPAN where I created video wallpaper. The purpose, It acted as fill between programming. We would run continuous clips of slowly moving video that I shot panning left to right or right to left and up and down and pulling slowly away (my small contribution to cinema verite on cable) from various Federal buildings and other notable architecture found throughout our Nation's Capital. These clips lasted from between :10 to :30 minutes and I edited them in away that would include many, many of our national treasures. I picked up on film in 1967 when I bought an inexpensive plastic 35mm/125speed film camera for a Cub Scout activity. Fast Forward in 1984 my purchase through JC Penny's of a Canon AE-1 35mm and I never looked back and now I have a Canon Rebel Xti EOS. Very simple stuff actually. I take into consideration the following when I shoot. (1) time of day (2) composition (3) weather conditions (4) Physical position And another consideration now that digital is for many the go to medium...take a lot of shots.
